Four people wearing parachute harnesses smile and pose together in front of a fence and gray wall. Three hold their arms around each other, while one gives a thumbs up. They are dressed casually and appear ready for skydiving.

Some experiences are unforgettable on their own, but skydiving becomes even better when you share it with other people.

Whether you’re planning a bucket-list date, an adventure with friends, or a group celebration, group skydiving is a memory you’ll talk about for years. At Piedmont Skydiving, the experience is designed to make jumping together easy and exciting.

Here’s how to plan the ultimate shared skydiving experience!

Why Skydiving Is Better Together

There’s something different about stepping outside your comfort zone with people you already trust. When you go skydiving with friends, the nerves become part of the fun, the anticipation builds together, and the shared adrenaline creates a bond like no other. Suddenly, you’re not going at this intimidating feat alone, but with your best pals by your side!

One of the biggest reasons people finally commit to skydiving is simple: it feels easier when you’re doing it with others. You already have a built-in support system before the plane even takes off. Heck – before you even get to the dropzone!

Skydiving Is Good For Couples, Friends & Groups

One of the best things about group skydiving is how surprisingly chill it can be. You don’t need a big party to make it feel like an event.

Can a couple go skydiving together? Absolutely! Couples often book tandem skydives as a bucket-list date or anniversary memory.

Need bachelor party ideas in North Carolina? You’re looking at it! Larger groups frequently organize group skydives for bachelor and bachelorette parties.

Friends and family members plan jumps together for reunions, birthdays, graduations, or spontaneous weekend fun – sometimes the more last minute it is, the more amped you are (depending on our availability, of course)!

Here’s why it works for everyone: tandem skydiving is beginner-friendly. First-time jumpers can participate without any prior experience. If your group includes people who are stoked and also people who are nervous, that’s totally fine. Instructors guide every tandem jumper through the process step-by-step, adapting their communication style to each individual. They make skydiving accessible even for people who never imagined themselves jumping out of an airplane mid-flight!

Help everyone in your group get on the same page by reviewing the first-time skydiving guide – it can help everyone feel more prepared.

Why Group Skydiving Is Good For Corporate Team Building

We all know traditional team outings and team building activities are easily forgotten. Skydiving will make you the cool boss, it’s nearly guaranteed!

A shared emotional challenge like skydiving naturally brings people together, which is why more companies are looking for alternatives to standard lunches or office events – which are BORING. Group skydiving gives coworkers a chance to encourage each other, celebrate afterward, and create a genuinely memorable (not forced) experience outside the workplace.

For corporate team building in Charlotte and throughout North Carolina, skydiving can work especially well for:

  • Team celebrations
  • Employee rewards
  • Company / employee milestones
  • Leadership retreats
  • Morale-building experiences

If there’s an employee who doesn’t see themselves skydiving, that’s okay! They can still participate in the fun from the spectator area. Remember, only those on the ground get to see the parachutes zip in for landing, which is an experience in itself.

How Group Skydiving Works At Piedmont

Five people wearing harnesses stand together outside on grass, smiling at the camera. The sky is partly cloudy and blue banners are visible in the background, suggesting they are preparing for skydiving.

Planning a shared skydive is usually easier than people expect. Here’s our top tips for planning a group skydiving day!

  1. Book a slot online or over the phone (reservations fill up quickly, especially on weekends!)
  2. Get rest the night before, and stay fed and hydrated
  3. Arrive at the time of your reservation
  4. Watch a video, sign a waiver, go through a briefing, and get ready to skydive!

Skydiving is a new experience, and that can make it extra intimidating, but it’s a lot more approachable than people think! The actual skydive happens fast, but the full experience usually lasts a few hours from arrival to landing. Groups should plan for flexibility, especially since weather conditions can affect the timeline of the day.

Can You Tandem Skydive With a Friend?

Not exactly, but kind of. For safety reasons, tandem skydivers must exit the aircraft one at a time. But, you do share time on the ground before boarding the plane and the post-jump excitement together!

If this is surprising, you’ve most likely seen videos of licensed skydivers jumping together. There aren’t the same rules around how many people can go skydiving together when everyone in the group is licensed to fly. (We can help you earn your license too!)

We always encourage reaching out to us with any questions prior to booking or after you’ve booked if something is on your mind.

Can Non-Jumpers Still Come?

Absolutely! Not everyone has to jump for the day to feel exciting. Our spectator area allows friends and family members to watch the action and still be part of the experience. This makes the day feel more like a full event rather than simply arriving for an appointment slot. Some people jump while others cheer from the ground, take photos, and everyone can celebrate afterward together.

How Much Does Group Skydiving Cost?

The average cost of a tandem skydive is between $250 and $300 without any added extras. Tandem skydiving prices vary depending on the package, the day of the week, and if someone opts to add on a media package (which you 100% should do!).

Group skydiving discounts start at $10 off per person when four-plus people book, $20 off per person when eight-plus people book, and $30 off per person when 12-plus people book! PLUS, these discounts can be combined with our student, first responder, or active duty military discounts.

Check out our pricing list for a more in-depth look at our rates breakdown.

Requirements To Know Before You Book

What do you need to know before you jump? Before scheduling your jump, everyone in your group should review the basic tandem skydiving requirements, including age limits, weight restrictions, and clothing recommendations.

  • Weight Limit
Our weight limit is 225 lbs with clothes and shoes on, which is pretty average across the industry. So can a 300 lb person parachute? No. Skydiving weight limits are in place for safety and comfort reasons; they are never intended to be exclusionary.
  • Age Limit
The minimum age to jump at Piedmont Skydiving is 18 years old, which is the industry standard across the United States. There’s no maximum age! Be sure to bring your valid, government issued ID!
  • Clothing
Dress for success! In skydiving, that means close-fitting clothing that allows for full range of motion and closed-toe, lace-up shoes – think athletic wear. If you’re getting video, bright colors and dark fabrics stand out best against the sky.

Turn It Into A Full-Day Adventure

The day doesn’t have to end when you land! Many groups head into Salisbury afterward for food, drinks, or further celebrations. Whether you’re planning a date-day adventure, a simple skydive with friends, or organizing a corporate outing, extending the experience beyond the jump turn it into a complete event.
