Seattle, WA

3. Occupation:

Multi-rated Professional Skydiving Instructor

4. Total Number of Jumps:

3,810

5. Total number of pack jobs (both sport and tandem):

Approximately 2,000

6. Skydiving Philosophy:

Visualization, proper planning, currency, and safety are the foundations of skydiving.

7. How (and where) did you start skydiving?

My uncle and I were on a road trip to my new duty station with the Army. Along the way, we decided to stop and do a tandem at Skydive Arizona. I went just for fun and to try it out. I had no idea at the time that it would turn into a lifelong passion and career!

8. How (and where) did you start packing?

I started as a packer at Texas Skydiving Center to pay for my license. Packing soon evolved into a career as an instructor and videographer
.

9. Of all of your skydives, is there one that stands out most?

Myself and four other people jumped out in ladies’ lacy underwear at Skydive San Marcos's Halloween boogie 2013. (You can find that footage on YouTube and Teem.)

10. What's the most amazing thing you can do in the air?

I am an avid swooper. I live for the adrenalin and the feeling of freedom that comes with high-performance landings. I am an avid swooper. I live for the adrenalin and the feeling of freedom that comes with high-performance landings.

Beyond that, I love being able to give people the courage and relaxation in the air to do their best and feel confident on their own skydives.

11. What kind of skydiving student were you?

I was an eager, quick learner. I had to learn how to relax through a skydive and not try and muscle through it.

12. Do you have any suggestions for students?

Take your time! Know your basic safety regulations. Stay focused on being safe and the fun will come.

13. What makes a great skydiver?

Someone who listens to the jumpers on how the openings are and will adjust packing style to accommodate softer, on heading openings.

14. Pet Peeves:

People with high jump numbers who have forgotten what it is like to be a first time jumper and are too busy making jokes about how new/inexperienced they are instead of teaching and helping them become more experienced and smarter jumpers.

15. Hobbies:

When my family and I aren't playing games inside, we’re hiking and road tripping and exploring the world around every corner

Something I wanted to do for myself and my kids for our birthdays.  Went with a group of eight (all family) and honestly could not have had a better time.  The facility was nice, and the people were honestly fantastic.  Made the entire experience that much better.  Sincerely appreciate the attention to fun and safety from all of the instructors, and absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a unique thrill.

Oh...pay the money for the pictures and videos.  It's worth it...but hold the camera yourself.  Makes for interesting viewing later on.
